Gurpurb celebrated with religious fervour

On the eve of Gurpurb, Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School celebrated Gurpurb of Sri Guru Ram Das, Sikhs fourth Guru and founder of Amritsar, with devotion and fervor in Gurudwara located at the school.

The special features of the programme were sakhis, poems and speeches about Sikh Guru, besides the students of primary section also recited kirtan. Students Mankirat Kaur and Mannat paid tribute to Sri Guru Ram Das spreading his divine message of harmony, humility and equality through their poem and speech.

Following this meritorious students of primary section session 2017-18 were also given away the prizes. The Sri Guru Ramas Parkash Parv committee also honoured the students who bagged first positions in inter-school poem and speech competition.

Speaking on the occasion Dhanraj Singh, officiating president, Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society, blessed the prize winners and motivated them to follow the path of universal brotherhood and peace. Director Principal Dr Dharam Veer Singh also apprised the students about the teachings and life of Sri Guru Ram Das.
