Govt trying to protect Sidhu: Majithia

SAD general secretary Bikram Singh Majithia has accused Capt Amarinder Singh-led state government of protecting Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, his wife Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu and Saurav Mithu Madan in the train mishap case.

Addressing mediapersons here on Wednesday, he said the government, while handing over compensation, had collected affidavits from the families proclaiming that the Sidhu couple and Mithu Madan were not responsible for the mishap.

He said this was being done at the behest of AICC president Rahul Gandhi keeping in view the next general elections.

“Otherwise, how could there be no registration of an FIR even after six days?” he questioned. He said an FIR is promptly registered even after a road accident causing death.

He accused the Sidhu couple of hiding Mithu Madan and preparing backdate documents of permission for the programme.
