Recording of statement begins today

The witnesses of the train tragedy have been invited to record their statements on Thursday. They can do so on October 29 as well. Officials will be available at the Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT) office.
In a public notice, B Purusharta, Divisional Commissioner, Jalandhar, who has been appointed special executive magistrate to conduct the magisterial inquiry, called the eye witnesses to record their statements.
Eyewitnesses or others having substantial evidence and information and who want to record statement can submit their proof at the AIT office on October 25 or 29. B Purusharta has assured fair and transparent inquiry in stipulated period.
Thirteen persons recorded their statements in front of the commissioner on Tuesday. Senior officials of the police, MC and Railways, along with organisers of the event, have been summoned to record their statements.
